This spring, we will be welcoming the fabulous wisdom of Rosie Caunt, senior yoga teacher, mentor and women’s circle facilitator to Yoga Essentia.

Rosie will be commencing her Lunch-break Recharge classes on Thursday 14th of November from 12:30 – 1:30pm.

School Holiday Timetable

If you haven’t yet been down to the Surf Club this week,

then you may not have seen the new café which has opened up downstairs.

The Sunrise Café crew have moved in, serving great coffee and food what’s more they’re opening Tuesday- Sundays all through the day.

 

So over the school holidays, come for yoga and stay for a coffee or tea at the ocean and make a morning of it!

Interested in becoming a yoga teacher this year? Ready for a deeper immersion into the practice and philosophy of yoga for transformation?

Whether you intend to teach yoga or complete the training for your own personal enjoyment and growth,  meet me and find out more at the

Intro Talk and Free class this Saturday 29th June at Therapy Works Newport Beach 3- 4:30 pm.

We will discuss the 350 hr Balanced Practice Yoga Teacher Training course, which is run over 6 weekends in Sydney and Bellingen ( you can attend at either or both!) with a 2 week Bali Immersion,  November 2-16. It is possible to complete the 350 hr YTT without attending the Bali component.

This Yoga Teacher Training offers you an experiential synthesis of  traditional and modern yoga, weaving yoga philosophy and modern understanding of functional anatomy +breath physiology,  pain science, trauma aware principles and language skills.

Being a physiotherapist and yoga teacher for over 20 years, I am passionate about yoga for helping people rediscover freedom and joy in their lives.

Amelia and I are proud to provide 12 months of mentoring to our Yoga Teacher Trainees, giving our trainees time to learn and practice skilful adjustments, awareness of student’s breath and teaching function over form, from an understanding of the group’s abilities and needs.

Our Balanced Practice Yoga Teacher Training 150 hour Bali Immersion is an opportunity to develop your yoga practice and understanding to the next level. To hone creativity in your sequencing and asana, and flow confidently between anatomical understanding and the spiritual aspects of yoga philosophy. We teach asana and pranayama with emphasis on function and inclusivity. We develop your adjusting and hands-on teaching skills. With combined 40 years of teaching and practice between myself and training co-director Amelia Disspain,  your reliable and highly experienced mentors, you can have an amazing retreat experience in Bali that will up level your life.

Summer Yoga Intensive: Reconnecting to your Inner Heart 

Donna’s Summer Yoga Intensive morning classes commence on the 2nd January running through every morning to Sunday 6th from 7-8am.      

This is a unique & annual opportunity to embody and recognise the value of connection and awareness between breath body and mind, as a way of taking care of ourselves, those close to us, and the subtle relationship with our nervous system and nature which is so important to de-stressing and wellbeing. Everyone can do Donna’s profound yet gentle classes, even beginners, so contact her on 0408783187 / donna@yogaandhealing.com.au if you feel this Intensive is for you. You’re welcome to attend some if not all of the 5 days, but booking is essential.

New Mysore Style Sunrise Classes

Sunrise Yoga with Debbie Gilligan
Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7:30am
This is an Ashtanga style class.
Arrive between 6 and 6.30am to start your practice, practice space closes at 7.30am.
No prior knowledge of yoga is required.
 You will be instructed individually and taught 1 posture at a time in a specific sequence, empowering you to remember the postures and work at your own pace.
 Your practice will build one step at a time as your body unfolds and you are ready for the next posture according to your individual requirements.
 The practice emphasises movement with breath, this creates heat in the body which ignites the bodies natural ability to detoxify on a mental, physical and emotional level.
 Over time, through regular practice you will experience benefits such as strength, flexibility and a sharp mind.
Your body will have fewer aches an pains as well as improved circulation/immunity and a calm nervous system, all resulting in improved quality of life.
