Mindful Hatha – A moderate level yoga class with Katie New
Thursdays 9:30am -10:45am
Thursday’s class draws on traditional hatha postures which are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques, restorative postures and meditation are also integrated to provide a balanced class.
The classes are designed to work with an anatomical and physiological awareness of the body, creating a space for you to move mindfully and truly make the practice your own. A combination of static and flowing asana are woven throughout the class allowing you to transition from pose to pose, linking movement with the breath.
Katie offers a variety of modifications to encourage you to find your most comfortable posture and also works with a trauma informed lens. Every person is invited to participate at their own pace and in a way that feels most comfortable to them. Students are not physically adjusted in class unless requested.
