Valli has been practising yoga for 15 years and teaching for the last 6 years. Her lifelong love of study has seen her through a number of yoga trainings. Her first yoga training was in the Satyananda style and involved over 1500 hours of training that spanned a decade. Valli also completed a Yoga Australia Level 1 diploma at Life Source yoga. Valli is currently involved in a mentoring relationship with senior Ashtanga yoga teacher Fiona Pullen who is one of only a handful of Authorised Ashtanga yoga teachers in Australia. Valli maintains a daily Ashtanga yoga practise and it is her dedication to this traditional yoga practise that informs her teaching.
Valli sees all yoga practise as therapy and is constantly learning about, researching and applying her research to her own practise as well as introducing therapeutic concepts in her classes. The ‘why’s’ of practise are just as important as the ‘how’s’, and it is this constantly evolving world of possibility that is so fascinating as both a student and teacher of yoga.
She is a mother of two school age children, a keen cyclist and former long distance runner, who understands the demands of balancing family life, work and fitness goals and how to manage these parts of life with grace and good humour.
